Preizkušanje požarne odpornosti konstrukcijskih elementov, gradbenega pohišva in inštalacij
Preizkušanje gorljivosti in kalorične vrednosti materialov
Analize sestave produktov gorenja
Računalniške analize in simulacije obnašanja konstrukcij v požaru
Računalniško podprto numerično modeliranje in simulacije gorenja ter širjenja požara omogočajo cenovno ugodno analizo večjega števila možnih scenarijev. Sodelavci FireExpert Living Lab s svojimi ekspertnimi znanji razvijamo računalniške modele in simulacije s programskimi orodji COMSOL, ABAQUS, FDS in SmokeView.
Fire resistance testing of structural elements, joinery and installations
Our laboratories feature a vertical furnace for testing vertical elements such as columns, walls, doors, windows and shutters up to 3 m × 3 m in size, and a horizontal furnace for testing horizontal elements such as slabs, beams, roof structures, balconies and parapets with a footprint of up to 3 m × 4 m. The furnaces can reach a temperature of up to 1200 ºC and allow for temperature loading either according to a standard ISO 834 curve or according to curves tailored to the client's requirements. Temperature loading can be accompanied by simultaneous mechanical loading using a compressive load of up to 4 × 200 kN, which is implemented by four hydraulic jacks.
Testing of flammability and calorific value of materials
Flammability of materials is made possible by a smoke chamber and a conical calorimeter which allow measurements of combustion heat, changes in the mass of samples measuring up to 10 cm × 10 cm × 5 cm and, the analysis of combustion gases transparency and quantification of soot. Both devices can be coupled with an FTIR analyzer to determine the presence of more than 20 different gases from the measured infrared spectrum. Measurements with a conical calorimeter can be performed in a reduced oxygen atmosphere. For determination of the calorific value of materials an isoperibolic bomb calorimeter is also available.
Analysis of the composition of combustion products
In addition to the FTIR analyzer, our laboratories also feature an HPLC analyzer, a thermogravimetric analysis apparatus (TGA) and a gas chromatography device with mass spectroscopy (GS/MS). These devices enable the separation and identification of compounds present either in the sample or in the combustion residues along with the quantification of individual compounds.
Computer analysis and simulations of conduct of fire structures
Computer-aided numerical modelling and simulations of combustion and fire propagation enable a cost-effective analysis of a large number of possible scenarios. FireExpert Living Lab experts use COMSOL, ABAQUS, FDS and SmokeView software to develop computer models and simulations.
